Differences Between SpecInt95 and Real Embedded Programs

(or, why SpecInt95 should not be used for benchmarking embedded programming tools).

Abstract: I will present the results of a set of measurements in which the static properties of real embedded programs have been compared to the static properties of the SpecInt95 benchmarks.

The conclusion is that there is a clear need for embedded-specific benchmarks, since the specInt95 benchmarks leave a lot to be desired. They are not very representative for embedded programs!

A lot of colorful graphs and striking diagrams are promised! :)
