Scheduling and Timing Analysis for Safety Critical Systems

Dr. Iain Bate
University of York, UK

Abstract
The aims of this presentation are to:

* to give some background on the domain and applications for the
systems I have worked on (in the field of real-time systems)

* to look at the work I did for my thesis, which was basically to
augment current theory to support `real' development

* to give some indications of the current work that I am doing

* to tell you what I believe are the `real' challenges for the next
  generation of real-time/embedded/safety-critical systems

An important and interesting topic is that Iain will discuss how the results of university research can be made useful in real project settings in industrial development.
